Took the dogs for a walk to upper lode lock on the severn at tewkesbury this morning and came across this
what do you think,some sort of pontoon bridge sections?, they look like they were clad insome sort of plywood at some stage.
they were stacked two high and dissapeared into the thorns and brambles for about 40 to 50 yards so they would have streched for quite a distance if laid out.
each section was about 20 feet long and you can see how they would have locked together

Upper Lode.

Just a guess, they are the remains of the original landing pontoons, an old version of the pontoons in your last pic.
