Pontypool Exide Update May 2012

Seen a few very good threads for this site but last 1 was dated May'11, so thought an update maybe in order.

Site is still standing, tho the office part of site is a little bit worse for wear. There are 'demolition in progress' signs up, not sure if they've started ripping down upstairs ceiling or it was wear & tear or just usual signs of vandalism. Looks as if there have been a number of fires started in office block & 1 in factory.

Got to be honest this was a very quick visit, not the best planned: Sat afternoon, road was busy due to kids footy match nearby, so kept it brief but am now kicking myself, wish I took a bit more time. Think it requires another visit.

No signs/ evidence of security onsite. Enjoy pictures.

Looks rough. Mind you I saw it in the dark via torchpower, so it could have looked better in the rainy night air.

Thanks for taking the time out to bring us the update, was talking to U-SW about this site only the other week.

Thanks, Yea I'd go for a look. most of my visits are on my own so have to use bit more common sense. Main concern was there's factories either side with cctv & rd was busy. would love to go again & delve deeper into/ up office block...think its on the cards lol

The photographs make it look nicer than what it is to be honest! The smell in the Shank section was disgusting!

I went up for a recon on another site in the area that myself and CS are planning and ended up on the roof of this place, scared the living ***** out of some kids which was cool
