Prospect Mills in Scholes, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, dates from the early 1800s and started out as a card mill. It stands above a network of now disused coal mines and there is apparently a ventilation shaft beneath the floor of the mill. Until a few weeks ago it was occupied by Shaped Wires who have now vacated the premises. The mill and its surrounding land have been earmarked for residential development, as pretty much in line with the rest of the country, there are presently too many jobs and not enough low quality houses in the area.

This was a mill pond complete with endangered species of newts until a few months ago. Mysteriously, they seemed to clear out shortly before redevelopment was due to begin:
This perfectly good house is also to be demolished to make way for 15 smaller houses:
