is this the one near cromford, Fezzyben? a bit further along the road with the pond near it, near Scarthins bookshop?

Ooh, I'm guessing...and this is only a guess, mind...that it's a cement works, because of the circular mixing thing (ppfftt...can't think of a proper name for it! ), plus the run-off and the look of the cabin. Excellent find, Fezzy.

I'm pretty sure its calcium carbonate. I could be wrong thou. I always used to pass it when I worked at a quarry up the road and its been on my todo list for a long while

This is the Realstone works that made reconstituted stone blocks for use as pavers and also building stone. I visited this site with Tarboat Junior last year and reported elsewhere.

Here's a few shots from that visit.

It was Balleye Quarry!

There was a famous murder there in the late 70's so if you see a young couple walking around it could be ghosts! Ha ha!
I lived in Bonsall for a few years and remember it well!

Me and Kaputnik ended up here yesterday evening when we went round Matlock.

Got some flicks, Despite what the weatherman had stated, it was an awesome evening!!! Thanks Kaputnik!
