A week or so ago I was having a mooch around RAF Davidstow Moor and I am currently sorting out my photos and will post them on line in the next few days.

Whilst wandering round the former technical site area of the old airfield I spotted this concrete item on the ground. It appears to be a concrete arrow.

At first I thought it might be from the airfield signal square, but a locally bought guide book suggests this was close to the control tower. Besides internet research reveals that does not appear to conform to what would normally appear in the signal square.

Anyone have any ideas as to what it is?

Thanks

John

Thanks Krela - that makes sense. I have just googled RAF Pot bellied stoves and a couple of pics of barrack block interiors have been thrown up with guess what in the middle - a pot bellied stove! Just wouldn't have thought about it being as mundane as this.

Oh well back to captioning the pictures will post a selection to the forum in next few days when I have finished.
