After an utterly pointless return trip to Wordsley hospital(flooded building site, no access to anything other that the service tunnel)we made off for some of diluted's famous home made burgers. What a result!
A quick look at the Stewart Crystal factory revealed nothing more than lots of dog-walkers and newly bricked up windows. Another blank.
The rain really set in, so we once again set of for some minced beef goodness.
Then, we stumbled upon a factory that diluted remembered from the summer. Parked the car, had a quick reccie, and RESULT! Looked do-able. Back to the car to get our now rain and mud-soaked gear, and off we went. Turned out to be quite a size, but totally stripped out. Office block was in a bad way, and most of the factory roof was gone.
Still worth a look, and it saved what had turned out to be utterly cack. Nice find by diluted.
RDB Interiors were based in Jersey and obviously made interior fittings and fixtures. We found lots of layout drawings that had been used to start fires in the offices. The factory was stripped back in the 90's when a deal with House of Fraiser went bad. They ended up getting sued for a hefty sum, and went into administration. The company has fallen off the radar since, and can't be tracked down at all now.
Enjoy the pics
