Salem Chapel
Not gonna lie this was not on my first agenda and its been on my hard drive for ages, over a year to be exact!
So when I say backlog I mean I have tonnes, stuff I have not even looked at I have a weird obsession where I reach say 60 locations on the explore front then I begin sharing and wont upload again unless I reach 60...OCD I reckon. I wish I had the same motive as most of you lot, upload one place explore and upload again, sadly this cant happen in my world
Anyway moving on this beautiful chapel has seen its fair share of photographers, I guess the decay and colours make this stand out, its often gone under rainbow church due to its colour decay scheme it has going on, this was not a planned explore at all, I was infact on route to a rather "erotic" farmhouse... maybe I will upload that rules provided I can, and I saw the chapel out the corner of my eye, pulled over had a look and oh its that lovely chapel most photographers go to, so why not take a nose and get some shots, I dont think I would of made the effort if I was not in the area, but none the less some time well spent considering its not normally my type of explore...but hey I rather liked it.
So apparently this place is owned by a chap abroad and seemingly doesnt care about its state or want to even bother to repair it, odd if you ask me but hey its not my chapel and not my money
I have no idea what this place looks like now, bare in mind this was maybe over a year ago.
Oh how time flies...
Some history below.
Salem Methodist Chapel was completed in 1833. Not long after; in 1868 it was rebuilt in the Gothic style of the gable-entry type, by architect Thomas of Landore. It’s in a pretty rural part of wales and eventually closed in 1973.
