Wow, this place has gone downhill. Roughly 4 million spent on security over the years however evidently none on maintenance, causing water damage to bring this once amazing building into a state of disrepair.
I failed getting into here a year and a half ago, since then this site has been at the top of my list, it was great to finally see it for myself, just a shame its ruined now.
To get in and out of this place undetected by security is a myth, but we somehow succeeded
This was all thanks to @andrew32
History
Originally built in 1849 by a local brewer as a country house, during its time it served many purposes, in 1920 it was rebuilt by the hotham family as a family home. In 1938 it became an orphanage. It was also used to train nursing staff for the local asylum and hospital. In 2002 an application was put foward to convert it into a paedophile rehab institute, which was refuted by the local community, it has stood empty and rotting ever since.

I usually hate using flash, it results in a strange exposure, however now the building is all boarded up it was the only way. Apologies
Thank you for looking!
