Well what can i say that hasnt been said already, after seeing this place posted up here for a few weeks i just had to get and have a look.
i was certainly not dssapointed. us guys from leicester decided to have a road trip today and visit a few places in lincolnshire and this was our first port of call.
goldie87, boothy, littlelaura and MD headed over to my place first thing and we jumped into the pikey mobile and off we drove for an hour. our first port of call was the maltings.
at first getting in was not as straight foward as walking through a door but after a climb over a pallet we were in then up a ladder to the top floor and back down the stairs at the other side to see more. (luckily we found a far easier route out of this place) then through the first few building taking pics as we go and then onto the water tower. after admiring what is definatly the best part of the site we headed up onto the roof and had a picnic.
one conversation was, being a nice sunny day i wonder how many other urbexers we would bump into on our visit.
the answer; only 1. but this was the guy that first introduced to to the internet world or urbexing. he happens to live quite a few miles north of this place so of all people i was suprised to see him as he is probably one of only a very small number of urbexers outside our little leicester group that i actually know or have met before.
anyway now ive bored you and your still reading this far down i will post a few pics,i wont go too mad and i will try and show things not covered before.
i love this boiler pic as ive just restored one the same make as this for a public display at the abbey pumping station
