Hi,
I have been a member on this site for a while now, but haven't really got involved! Well, I'm going to give it a try, this is my first post and it is slightly different as it involves videos of people singing in derelict places!
I think it's a nice way to bring life back into a place.
I am fasinated by derelicted buildings, but I never knew there was a whole community of people deadicated to exploring them, fair dues, I think its amazing...

Enough of that!

These videos where filmed not long ago in Ireland. I came across the oppportunity of getting access to a derelict convent. A three story building that hasn't been used in many years. The videos take place in the old dinnig room and the old chapel. Unfortunately due to time constraints I didn't manage to get any good pictures, it's a pity because it was an amazing building. One room was full of dead pigeons (if your into that :p).

P.s. If this isn't an appropriate way of posting, just say the word and i'll only share pictures next time :) thanks

I like the voice on the second video... Can you just say if the audio has been recorded else where? Home studio perhaps?

I ask as both sound like they have reverb effects - the first one way to much... (Sorry I'm a DJ by trade) If not then ignore me lol Although I would suggest having audio recorded in a studio if it's not then - but now Im just typing away!

In regards to the videos for a report - I would have liked to see some photographs too and info about the buildings - but with my main trade, I like this also.

Personally, I prefer still rather than video. Apart from having steam driven broadband at home, while I'm at sea YouTube is blocked by our IT Gestapo.

Really, what kind of DJing do you do?
I know the audio wasn't great, but it was just straight from the camera (canon 550D). I had a marantz and rode mic but the levels peaked and it wasn't useable! It does sound like an effect has been added but it was just the echoes in the rooms. But thanks for the feedback! :)

Next post I'll definitely incorporate pictures and information! :)

Thanks rory89

Look up the magic lantern firmware for the 550d, it gives you all sorts of extra goodies when making video with the 550d including a whole boatload of sound options. :)

I am a full time Wedding DJ. Well was, hanging up the headphones for a year or so to look after the family a bit more.

Voice wise mind, love the second bloke - listened to it a few times already! Very soothing I think :)
