Is this possible with regards to how safe the building is? Or is this a ridiculous idea.

Thoughts please.

You probably could the question is why would you :). After the series of recent fires I would suggest its probably not a great idea..

Two questions.

1 - Why?

2 - Are you f**king crazy?

At one time this place wasn't too derelict and a television program investigating the paranormal did spend the night there, but as the case now, no floors, in danger of falling masonry, spirits tapping on the shoulder of people, I think I would give this one a miss. Too dangerous and your safety is more important.

If Mook says its no on I'd give it a miss Barry, I can understand where your coming from though,

How safe the building is depends on where you are. Buildings there range from reasonably poor to ruinous IMHO.
Remember that it is a large site, you could easily become lost or disorientated in the dark.
Only you can decide if it is a ridiculous idea, or a safe one either.

I know others have done this recently, and a few friends of mine are desperate to stay there too.
I would be really interested to know why you would want to do this though?

I have taken everybodys advice onboard, I am going to go there in the day and map out whats terrible on whats okish with regards to safety. I will then come back at night and stick to what i belive to be the "safe areas" equipment wise i can wear a black hardhat to minimize potential injuries and strap the go pro to it. I do appreciate the concerns and i dont want people to think i am a complete idiot. The reasons why is because as you can probably tell, i am more comfortable exploring at night, i like the creepy element to it and think I could get some good pictures. Also this will probably be just me or me and jack stride so i need the site to be worthwhile and time consuming.

Cheers :)

Well, I wouldn't but are there any safe areas? The whole place looks its about to fall in itself.

I wasn't there that long ago and the place has had seven shades of **** kicked out of it. There also appear to be a few more fires than you would expect in your average derps over the last month or so. Keep an eye out for the idiots and vandals if you do go fella.
There was a building towards the rear that looked better than most on GM its the light grey building, the only down side is one of the exits is a good 8 meters off the ground so don't walk out of it in the dark :)
Stay safe

Yes I was going to say, after the latest fire which was a massive one you never know what could happen.

Surely you bed would be more comfortable. Maybe you just need a new mattress.

I've not been to Denbigh myself, but I really wouldn't fancy it. There are much better derps to stay in than that.

The best building is probably the one with the orangery/conservatory out the back. It's the most intact.

Apart from that, why would you want to do this?! Haha

Why Denbigh? There’s plenty of other options.

Good point my jsp and SlimJim. There are other places out there.
Thanks guys, I might try a camping holiday now.

Another point. It is all very well assessing hazards and structurally surveying buildings, but would you be prepared for other people?
The first time I went, I met many other nice and talkative explorers. More recently, pipe wielding thugs and gangs of vandals smashing up what little was left.
Could you, and I assume your team, be prepared for such risks?

Hmmm I may rethink that then, will have to do more reasearch but I would like to do an allnighter in an old asylum, it has a certain taboo about it. Again thanks for everyones for everyones advice. with regards to other people, I would talk my way out of it or if I felt my safety was at risk from a few local yobs or pikeys, then they would get tasered or put on the floor with reasonable force. People dont worry me, the floor caving in worries me lol

it has a certain taboo about it.

There's a difference between people thinking it's taboo and stupid, I can't think of a single person who thinks it's taboo.

Also tazing people or having to use "reasonable force" is stupid too. You're not being clever or world wise, you're just putting yourself in dangerous situations you have to do dodgy things to get yourself out of, and could easily end up in trouble for it - either because you're less capable than you think you are, or because the law doesn't agree with your judgement. You can do whatever you like it's your life, but please don't reference doing such things on here again.
