dont know if this post is in the right section- appologies if it isnt!

As Quoted from the colchester gazette 29/10/08

Tighter security after arson attacks

Security has been stepped up around a derilict building in a bid to keep out arsonists.
Two fires were started deliberately this month at the former St albrights old peoples home, on the corner of london road and new farm road both in stanway. Both blazes started late at night on a sunday and took firefighters over two and a half hours to put out. They were both inside the building itself, causing substaintial damage.
A high wooden fence had been put up around the building last year after intruders set a number of small fires in the grounds.
After the latest two incidents, colchester councillor Lesley Scott-Boutell (lib Dem, Stanway) said something needed to be done before the building was destroyed.
She had a meeting with the developer and planning officials to discuss the site.
"the police went back to the site and resecured it, particually the enterence points. There will be a greater security prence, and police will patrol more regularly".
She sais that she had been inside the property and the "main fabricof the building looks fine"

I visited here the other day, and didnt see any sign of any police, access was laughable if they consider that to be secure they need to go back to school. As for increased police patrols, maybe teach them how to get in as well? That might help :p
