Visited what was left of St Crispins and Princess Marina with Mookster, to say we felt the floors were treacherous was an understatement and as such we decided to stick to externals. I have bundled the two together as I didn't get many shots.
Very nice builder on site who let us wander the St Crispins' site after a short chat with him providing we didn't attempt to venture inside.
Princess Marina now appears completely closed as opposed to just parts and I am happy to say that although its being redeveloped the builders are not knocking down the remaining buildings they are going to renovate them make some "subtle" changes but generally restoring them to their former selves.

Thanks for looking

Princess Marina is one to keep an eye on, it's a really strange layout for a hospital, like a colony split in two by the main road. It only opened in 1968 so had a short 42 year lifespan. Walking around the rows of derelict doctors or student accommodation on half the site was really eerie.

Princess Marina is a really odd site - it was opened basically as an overflow to St Crispin's in 1968 so handled mentally handicapped and disabled people mostly. I only managed to get one photo of an actual hospital building though the rest of my pics were staff accomodation:(

This is the admin block. The rest of the buildings are scattered around a maze of public footpaths.

One for the future methinks.

We checked some of the other buildings out
A while ago most have had metal stolen
From them !!

It's pretty much all empty but there was a fleet of patient transport minibuses parked outside one of the buildings, might just be sat there waiting to be moved or parked out the way there waiting to be called out.

You have to drive through it to get to Crispins:p

I'd be up for another look as well but dunno when I'd be able to make it up there again.
