This explore started life as another trip to West Park. We couldn't have picked a busier weekend, there were hundreds of people on site taking part in some kind of training. After much highjinks and shenanigans with one of the most rude security guards i've ever come across (trying to take pictures of us, trying to get us to write down our name/address/DOB, following us to take pics of our numberplates, accusing us of breakages and trying to 'steal the roof' amongst others....) we decided to go and have a crack at St Ebbas.

There's not much much left of the site now, probably 4 or 5 buildings and huge piles of rubble. Glad I could see it while there's still something left.

It was my first time trying out my 10-20mm lens so excuse the awful quality of many of the shots

Shame the site will be completely gone soon.

and ukmayhem nearly leaving the guard in a puddle of his own piss :)

Was funny not a bad day will stick mine up later.

Sounds like an eventful visit and some cracking pics.
Think I might go here soon as its just down the road. Do you think it will it still be there in a month or so??

Yeah - how long do you think before it gets demolished to make way for more commuter housing for those terribly nice people from Epsom, who are so posh they recently objected so violently to a branch of Aldi being planned that they had to call police to the borough council meeting concerned (or so I heard anyway)...

It'll be gone in a month or so easy. Basically all that is left is what you can see in that last photo with a little bit more to the right - mainly the hall, bank and shop. Plus the building you can see on the left is completely stripped with nothing of interest really. They've even started takingn the floorboards up on the ground floor. Only really worth a visit if you live close; if you're travelling more than an hour to get there I wouldn't bother to be honest.

On with my photos then. Big thanks to Randomnut and UK Mayhem, it was much fun despite the WP incident. In fact looking back it was rather hilarious

Very nicely done, love those close ups. Were they with your new 50mm?

Yeah anyone wants to visit the site, i'd do it soon as the dozers are moving in on the last few buildings.

Cheers, yeah they were with the 50mm. I'm liking the image quality but the fixed focal length is really strange to work with, especially for exploring when you often want to fit quite a lot in the frame. The 1.8 aperture is really handy for low level lighting though. I'm getting jealous of your wide angle, you got some lovely shots with that  Might need to save up my pennies.
