St Georges, Stafford, May 2009

Took a very, very recent trip to St Goerges Asylum, it was the first asylum that I have visited.

Not the easiest entry/exit, bumped into some other explorers whilst there who gave us a helping hand, did not get their names, but many thanks if you happen to read this.

We only managed to do the main building and the workshops as we were short of time, and it is pretty trashed inside.

It's the only asylum/hospital I've ever visited, and even then I wimped out at the entry! :lol:

I did take several films of the exterior, though. :mrgreen:

Really enjoyed seeing your pics, sj...quite a few I've never seen before.

I wish I had a £ for every time I've cycled or walked round & round the perimeter of this place armed with cameras only to wimp out at the last second.
I think it must be easier when you're with someone or in a group. Would probaby make it more fun if someone was there to share the moment of getting caught! Or more seriously, if there was a helping hand if you got into a scrape of found that didgy floor.
Considering it's only 8miles away from me, I really must try before the end of the year...

Planning a visit to this place in the very near future would be very interested to hear stories from anyone else who's been - for example is it really pantwettingly scary?! :shocked:
