This was a place very high-up on my "to do" list with some others, but I'm glad I can cross it off my list (even though I am planning on going back and seeing the places I missed).

I won't bother with explaining the history as it's been said before, so I'll get on with the photos!

Went with James_s (not sure if he's here anymore), Thompski, and as far as I'm aware, 3 other non-forum members.

Stereotypical St John's staircase shot! It was weird seeing them in so many photos and then being in front of them.

Thanks :) I'm still amazed we weren't seen or caught going by what you and others have told me!

Is a good place isn't it, we saw noone despite the cameras and PIR on the walls when we went ! it is somewhat dangerous upstairs though ! Did you get to the nursery ?

the bit upstairs near the main staircase was ok when i was there, dont know about the other hospital bits though!! there was a PIR in the tree last time.... strange place to put one lol

It's a great place! We were told about there being cameras and PIR's, didn't see any, though. It is a bit dangerous! 2 of the people I was with got to the nursery, but I didn't which is one of the reasons I wouldn't mind going back again.

The sound-proofed ceilings (are they sound-proofed, or was someone pulling my leg?) were a bit creepy!

i think they were for soundproofing from what ive read, either that or someone got bored designing the place lol

Quality pix there mate, loving that staircase.
Thanks very much! I couldn't remember if that staircase was in this asylum or another fairly well-known one, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it.

I can imagine patients screaming and it having no effect :(

Nice one, glad to see its bearing up, and still doable. Fantastic photos too, really nice :)
Thanks very much! No signs of demo work, but I guess we didn't get to where that was happening. It's still going strong, no signs of roof collapse :)

It's a nice explore, you should definitely visit if you get the chance to!

We didn't make it to Sleaford unfortunately, we wanted to but by the time we'd done a few other places on our list, it was getting dark. It's definitely worth a look at.

I just love this place. Happy memories indeed :)
It's a fantastic place. Didn't get to see all we wanted to, though!

Anyone know when it's going to be flattened or turned into flats...?
