St Johns Hospital built originally in 1837 as an infirmary to a local workhouse, had various bits "added" to it over the years, started closing down in 2005 and finally came to an end 18/11/2010 when all its staff and services were shifted to Bromsfield Hospital.
In its 133-year history, more than 100,000 babies were born inside the hallowed walls of the hospital's famous maternity ward.
