This was my second trip to St. Johns, the previous visit had been a fleeting sweep around just one area in 2005. Since that trip, a second perimeter fence had been erected, asbestos removal had taken place and many of the previously boarded windows and doors were now exposed to the elements.

Oddly enough I would compare this place to North Wales Hospital in Denbigh - Sandstone construction, looks very nice from the outside and quite stripped on the inside!

Visited with Simon after Sleaford Maltings.

Some shots from my previous trip: (notice the main hall corridor is still covered over at this time).

Some great shots there Mr Bones.
Like the corridor one with the doors - excellent.
I really really like the covered corridor shot though - first I've seen with the roof, I'd always supposed it would have had a glass roof all the way across instead of the hybrid that's in your pics.

I only just seen this report...I remember someone else doing this and commenting that the ironwork is superb...you took some peach shots fella.Thanx for sharing them.
