St Luke's Hosptial

The hospital started its shutdown in 2007 and finally fully closed to public on 22nd December 2010.

It provided Neurological rehabilitation, associated Occupational Therapy, post Cardiac disease rehabiliatation, a renal unit and a number of residential wards.

Based around the buildings of the former workhouse situated on a slope, the site is stepped with many level changes. A three storey 1960's cruciform of 200m long glazed corridors serve and link the more modern sections to the Victorian conversions.​

When I first got into photographing derelict buildings, it was because of seeing other people's shots of Hospitals & Asylums, for one reason or another I seem to have neglected these types of explores, so I decided 2013 would be the year I got to see as many as I can, starting off with St Luke's, which as everyone knows is one hell of a derpy derp site, but It's a hospital and local, so I decided to get it checked off the list...2 years too late!

The most interesting place here was the boiler room really, this was also the place we spent most of our time and it turns out the morgue was on the same corridor, but we somehow missed it
