Hi all,

It's been a while since I've posted anything up.
Here's some pics taken from 2 separate visits to St Mary's. One of them was in the winter whilst it was snowing and the other set was taken more recently.
I felt so privileged to be in an asylum whilst it snowed, there was a captivating stillness to the place.
I also noticed something of interest that somebody on here might know more about.
It was located in the acute unit, which is the larger separate building to the north of the site where the dentist's is.
Well looking out from the dentist's room facing down south towards the end of the corridor there is an unusual door that is completely nailed shut.
I actually seem to remember there being a door nailed over a door and it looked like a crazy person had nailed it tight judging but the amount of nails that had been put in.
Does anyone have an idea of what's in there? It could of course just be something toxic that had leaked but it left me curious.
There didn't appear to be any hole that you could peep through to get a view of what's in there.
The other part that we didn't have time to look in was the small isolation hospital which might have housed some interesting bits as well as the Nurse's accomodation.
Also if anyone's got Mykal's email could you pm it to me pls as I wanted to send him a pic taken of him modelling off his clown suit:eek:

I had so many pics I split it up into 2 parts, but I've put them together for this report enjoy :)

really love your pics, just looking at the dentists chair gives me the shivers:lol:

I have to say nursepayne... yours were some of the first pics I saw on this site, and your stuff is by far the photos I love the most.

I dont know exactly how your getting the colours and textures you do but they seem perfect to me. I love the characters you use too. You seem to capture great atmosphere.

Great work.

Nicely – menacingly – processed, and it looks very evocative in the snow. :)

Just had a look at some of your stuff wolfism, its gorgeous too fairplay.

What do you use to edit?

Not to hijack NP's thread ... ;)

... I used to use XRes, mainly use Photoshop now, but tend to do as little as poss. to images, just tweaking curves and sharpening.

NP is far more creative with the post-processing. :)

Ah, I use all photoshop on mine. Im not the most skilled with a camera but tweak the levels and saturation afterwards. Currently getting into layers of differing exposures/sharpness.

Any good tutorials about maybe just for some ideas?

i hate that freaky clown!!!

damn i wish i could travel around all these places far from me. but cant. hurry up and grow up kids lol

That alot for all the supportive comments guys...that has the be I think the nicest thread rply I've ever had on a forum!
I always use curves sharpening and sometimes levels, you can bring out so much and darken with curves.
I use photoshop but I don't think it makes much diffrence what you use they all do pretty much the same thing.
Oh yes r3quiem I always desaturate :) Desaturation, the love of my life!
