For a rural Norfolk parish Sco Ruston occupies a tiny geographical area in a sea of small parishes. Sco Ruston lies alongside the Coltishall to North Walsham "B" class road. The parish is north-east of Norwich and roughly one third of the way from Coltishall to North Walsham.

As can be seen from the images St Michael's church is a collapsed ruin, covered in rampant ivy. This was never a populous parish and its parishioners were gradually subsumed into neighbouring Scottow & Tunstead. The ruins now present a forlorn aite adjacent to a fast widened stretch of road, it is doubtful that many passing by realise they are there.
