That's Nice ;)
Must have been a grand place back in the day.
Any idea who lived there & it's story at all ?
Thanx for sharing :)

In 1918,The people who purchased this building, a mansion on the Antrim coast; and in 1947, the family donated the house and 162 acres of land to the Northern Ireland Hospitals Authority.the building was officially opened as a convalescent hospital in 1950, but funding difficulties meant that, in 1986, it was closed down by the Department of Health and Social Services. In 1995, Lord Rana purchased the House and the surrounding gardens from the council. Rana was forced to comply with an Urgent Works Notice in 2003 from the Department of the Environment. It obliged him to carry out immediate repairs to the House. Rana was advised that the building would be taken from him if he did not comply with the works notice. But as you see nothing was done to prevent the state that it`s in now.

Maybe I am wrong but naming a location seems a little wrong.

further comments in this thread has now disclosed this location to all of us and to possible chavs/metal thieves who potentialy troll these sites looking for their next target of destruction!

By looking at the state of this building i see that the chavs/metal thieves have already been and stripped everything possible from it. And also seeing that the world and his wife have visited and know that`s its open i don`t see any difference in what your pointing out at, I know who your pointing the finger at.

I think we need to keep this lets not name locations in the right context.
I think we would all agree no one would like to contribute to the activities of thieves in any way shape or form.
When a location contains items that we think could be of interest to those types of people then it’s down to us all to show common sense & sensitivity on the matter.
But let’s not get silly about it as all that would happen is a many of you would have nothing to post on very quickly bar Ur garden shed lol
Let’s be responsible for what we do ourselves and all’s well as we won’t be changing the world any time soon

Im not pointing a finger at anyone, all I am saying is that if we name places and location then it merely opens up a potential world of pain for future explorers (Security, chavs, squatter or worst case scenario the place is burnt down by scumbags) and then no one else gets to enjoy the hobby that is exploring derelict places and photographing urban or rural decay. it was not intended to be a finger poking exercise, so my apologies if it came across that way.

I must be one of the few that havent visited this place yet

Lol there are locations that require discretion without a doubt through what they contain and this is not one of them?
Way too oversensitive and can see no reason why, other than one hasn’t been

I hope this help Gents as we have our ways of doing things :)
