I explored this place a couple months ago and have only just got round to posting it up, you will have to excuse the photos as i only had a rubbish camera at the time. Anyway me and two of my friends set off for the 5 hour round trip one Sunday morning. Once in we spent a good 6 hours there and still didnt cover all of it, the place is vast and great for climbing but is very dirty and dusty. It was quite funny seeing made up dummies of security guards around the place aswell.
After spending most the day there we set off and was almost immediately followed out of the island by the old bill and got pulled over, they didn't seem to bothered.
History
The plant went into administration in January 2012 with the loss of 350 jobs, but was bought back by its owners six months later, new plans for the plant could see the creation of up to 120 jobs.
The new plant would be a rolling mill and would not produce any steel.
At this day Demolition of some buildings are taking place and the landowners would not comment on the future of the plant.
