Been wanting to go here for ages and managed to get a Sunday with no rain so we ventured out for an explore today. I was surprised at how many other people were in the area walking, fishing, birdwatching and even extract scrap metal with a stillsaw, at least I presume that's what they were up to, didn't get close enough to find out

I know loads of pics have already been posted before so I've tried to pick out the ones which are hopefully a little bit different....

Had a great couple of hours wandering around, I'm not usually into industrial sites but really enjoyed myself today :)

nice set of pics its such a photogenic site even in its current state i wonder if people will be living there in the future?

Great set of pics. I've lived along the road from this site all of my life and yet there is still little things I find that I have never seen before (probably because the gypsies have just dug it up)

I wonder if it was you I seen taking photos when I was there last. I was exploring the culvert north of the one pictured in pic no 8 & 9. (report still to come)

We were getting quite a few unhappy looks from the gypsies who had actually managed to get a digger on site to dig up and pull pipes out of the ground near the water tank!

He he, it probably was me cos there was a digger pulling up pipes when I was there, didn't realise it was gypsies though  There were a few more in a van who shouted at me to not take f*ing photos, cos like they were being so discreet with their stillsaw and music playing at full blast...I just shouted back and carried on anyway, managing to carefully block them out so they didn't spoil the view. Bloody cheek, I had as much right not to be there as they did

every time i see this place, it looks more and more trashed!:skull:
Keep meaning to go for a goodbye visit, as planning permission has finally been granted to build houses on the site........ but who builds houses when there is a recession coming?
