Stuck up a crane

So any one on here get caught up a crane in Oxford trying to get some picies

Sounds like a classic case of a numpty shining a light around when he shouldn't. I draw the line at cranes. A man's gotta know his limitations.

Cost the emergency services a few quid, but they didn't need to rescue him this time, but it's comforting to know they are there if thing's go wrong or we do something particularly stupid.

Jim's right, I don't see what possible reason anyone would have for shinning a torch around up there.

That being said nothing wrong with using a torch if the alternative is not seeing that huge hole in the floor. Safety before stealth.

Heights - you can stuff that for a game of troops, it`s why I joined Subbrit.

If you want to see in the dark at heights (or anywhere really) without being caught use a small red led light - it doesn't travel so much distance or blow out your natural night vision.

Any kind of light in such an exposed position is a risk though.
