Established by Thomas Goodwin Green, T.G.Green & Co operated from the village of Church Gresley, South Derbyshire between 1864 and 2007.
More famous for their blue and white striped 'Cornish Kitchen Ware' produced from the early 1920's (then known as 'E-Blue') the pottery produced many hundreds of patterns from Yellow wares, Victorian transfer prints, colourful hand painted Art Nouveau & vibrant enamelled Art Deco patterns, Wartime utility pottery, avant garde Retro designs and many well known Brewery wares, employing up to 1,000 local staff at the height of production. In the early 2000's the site was purchased by neighbouring pottery Mason Cash before both companies became part of 'The Tabletop Group'. Production ceased in 2007 and the factory and land is under private ownership.
Probably my favourite local site, I have a long history with this place myself - everything from having a job interview and factory tour here in 2001 to getting bollocked by security in 2015!
The roof is failing in a lot of places due to the lead going missing many years ago
Cobalt blue powered glaze
A stash of intact ware, these plates have had their first biscuit firing and have been decorated but haven't had the final glost firing to fix the glaze
Mould workshop
Colour labs
Tunnel kiln
Medical room
Canteen
Thanks for looking
