Spent Christmas in Surrey. Had a choice of shopping in the sales or exploring on my own sans tripod - easy choice
Started off at St Ebba's Hospital formally Ewall Epilectic coloney opened 1904, with some small parts remaining. This used to be a large mental handicap/learning disability hospital.
most of it is going fast
Then on to Horton Hospital, opened in 1902 as Horton Asylum, closed in 1996. I wasn't impressed by the conversion of this hospital, the admin building looked a mess from the front. The water tower looked a sorry state.
Then on to Manor Hospital, built in 1712, bought by London county council in 1896 and converted into Horton Manor asylum in 1899.
found this in St Ebba's
Then West Park Hospital, opened 1924
Then with light fading fast
Long Grove Hospital, opened in 1907
Overall the conversions left me unimpressed with their lack of community facilities, small gardens and over use of silly little cul-di-sacs, if you don't have a car you won't want to live here.
