We went to The Mount Hospital in Bishopstoke at the beginning of the year, having previously bypassed it due to online write ups.... As I had already seen, it was run down, covered in graffiti and just generally vandalised. There was a small group of kids running around, jumping from roof to roof and generally being a pain - One of the downsides of an easily accessible site I suppose!!
There was no real "feeling" left there...Other than pity as it really was in a sorry state. A shame as the old house and tower are still there in all their beauty highlighting further the demise of the other less attractive buildings. This wasn't the most atmospheric or photogenic site I have ever visited but was worth the trip none the less.
All the below photo's are from our original trip...There were a few lighting problems so apologies:

Earlier this week, as we were close by, we thought we would check it out again, just out of interest. The site has been completely flattened!!! Except for the main house which remarkably isn't listed, though it is on Borough Council’s Local List of Buildings of Historical and Architectural Interest. However, from what I could see (which is limited as a perimeter fence has now been erected) it was being worked on by quite a few builders..Maybe being demolished, maybe converted?! But either way The Mount is no more!!!
I hope you enjoy
