The pimple is in Whitchurch Down nr Tavistock, devon....in 1909 houses were being built in this area and needed a reservoir to supply the water, the pimple was built in 1914 of local stone as a secure entrance to the underground tank....it was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, and each wall is a mere 13ft long,

this tiny building is up for sale for £10,000 atm and was recently reported on westcountry news, no access to the reservoir as its still in use!

another unusual explore!:)

What a wonderful little building! Small and perfectly formed - full of character! Atmospheric photos too, I like them :)

Actually, the structure put me in mind of the follies built around the Brightling, Sussex area by "Mad Jack" Fuller, http://johnmadjackfuller.homestead.com/index.html

They are worth an explore if anyone's in the vicinty! Haven't been for a few years, really will have to go back sometime....some nice pubs around there, too ;)

loving the last pic mate ;)
My parents just sold their house which backed right on to that bit of moor, I think we all went up there for the eclipse a few years back. Didnt realise it was for sale though. so no access at all to the resevoir?

it looks lovely, but what would you do with it if you owned it esp when you can look at it for free:) love the last picture too

Wow man, atmospheric shots. Very nice wee building, though I think its more of a raised nipple than a pimple. Kind of. Well, I think anyway.
