The pretty cottage August 2024

This beautiful cottage sits at the side of a road with pretty roses growing around it.
The house was home to a elderly couple who sadly both passed away. Upstairs bedrooms lay untouched with a surprisingly clean and tidy bathroom.
Downstairs had been made to accommodate Mr with his mobility issues a lounge turned into a bedroom with all his mobility aids at hand.
3 bedrooms a box room with broken furniture and suitcases. A darkened room from the ivy growing all over the window and what would have been the family bedroom before the move downstairs.
Mr enjoyed a drink and a cigarette whilst reading his many books or playing a game of chess.

I did hear some noises I couldn't make sense of!
Was glad to get out and back in my car.
At least i didn't get chased by any dogs this time. The sticker on the door warning of dogs wasn't very believable

Looks like he had the occasion to wear tails at one time.

The ambient lighting - without any flash - captures the atmosphere perfectly. His range of reading - Graham Greene to Julian Clary to 50 ways to kill slugs - plus the tail coat show a wide spread of interests. And that jacket on the back of the chair - as if he's about to come back in - gives an immediacy to the scene.
