Apologies the Media is not great as I fit it all on my I phone due to the explore being close to a busy main road and opposite a very busy pharmacy. Received a few strange looks but carried on regardless. There was no way in to the property it being locked down like Fort Knox so all the explore was done from the outside.
The White Bear was a family run pub in 2010 serving hot food and catering for families.
Not the biggest of public houses consisting of A lounge/best room and a Tap Room/gaming room with Darts and a pool room. The Pub described as a “Rough Diamond” by the locals tried its best to stay afloat by serving up Karaoke and guest musicians to attract punters.
Refurbed in 2015 a real ale pump was added to the bar but for some reason this never became popular. Sadly the White Bear ran aground on hard times and closed in 2019.
Planning permission for two dwellings and site demolition has been refused once by the council but not accepting defeat the Tory MP Mark Spencer from York has re-submitted again straight away and another council decision is pending.
And so Sadly another Public House disappears.
