Visited on Sunday after going to Dragonby Mine. Quite impressed, as there is much more left than at High Marnham. Funniest moment was when I was on top of the old digger and security walked right past, patrolling the fence for the 'live' elec site! I nearly laughed out loud...

thanks for looking

nice work mate
shame on the hdr as think the pics would have been good untoched any chance you can post the originals
cheers dave

would love to see the originals as I feel the HDR has spoilt them

Agree with Diehard, they're nice shots - not sure you needed the HDR, but each to his own!

Dragonby eh? - be interested to know how you got on there!

its a shame as some well composed, good quality shots are ruined by hdr
these pics would be cracking without the hdr as are good quality and very well composed
its such a shame that they look like a videogame

Aww no! You're all gonna hate me, but i really like the hdr!!!

Great pics!! :D

love the pics m8! always wanted to do a power station, richborough not far from me but havn't got round to it, just like the vastness of cooling towers breaking the horizon! i'm gonna go out on a limb with ekp09 an say i love the HDR too!

Security are only concerned with the substation (run by E.ON) and don't care if you go in the power station (owned by ABLE UK) :)
Not bad photos, I've seen worse HDR :)

I dont want to turn this into a HDR topic ok.....but I also like these a lot, particularly the close up of the digger bucket.

Christ ive opened that HDR can of worms again! I try to keep my HDR a bit subtle in the tone mapping but subtlety must be in the eye of the beholder. BTW there is no HDR on pics 5, 6 or 10 (as you can probably tell).

One thing I can say, you cant easily get cooling towers in without a 10mm UWA.

Cheers for all the comments guys...

hdr or not there are some really well composed shots there , my fave is no 4 followed by no 5 , in my opinion the hdr isn't overdone and subtle hdr has its place here, but when it looks like an x-box screenshot please post the original too :)

bloody hell mate you have a talent number 2 non hdr is stunning
please please please
post more pics as these are great

Nice work - you're one of the subtler exponents of HDR. :)

I see (pic.8) that explorers have left their mark in trying to get up the stairwell - cheapo slings!

BTW - some useful safety info about Dragonby here.

Thanks Wolfsim,
I'd come across that before - info is very very thin on the ground for that place!
Sorry Cgul for taking this post off at a tangent.

Yet again the HDR on these is overdone, making it look almost like a video game. Having said that, HDR aside, these are cracking photos, specially that one of the digger. Unbelievable perspective in that one.

excellant pictures mate even the first 10 are are excallant by my standard, would love to see this but bit far from kent
