After last weeks grot, I took my wife out for Sunday lunch at the Sow & Pigs Pub in Thunderidge, just up the road from where we used to live, so I thought I would look at this old chestnut whilst I was there. There is another one like this (or there used to be) between Ware & Harlow but I can't find it on Google maps - maybe it has been demolished?
Any way it seems that the local youth use this place a lot - a plethora of beer cans and when I came down the spiral staircase some bloke was ushering in 2 young scantily clad females. So I waited for one of them to notice me, all in black crouching in the corner and went "Boo"..........This is about as haunted as Harlequin shopping mall in Watford. Rumors where would we be without them!

Didn't see the face in the door way until I got home - thought it was a stupid tag

Always like gravestones that have a skeletal theme & no they are not maggots

Awesome stuff! Just ethreal!
I don't believe you about the scantily clad females tho, I think we're gonna need more proof :p
I have heard that the local dog walkers are know to jump out on people / shout boo / make general ghostly noises
Thanks for sharing such awesome photos!

It's true - as I arrived there were five 20 somethings who were ahead of me and they spent all of 2 minutes inside then pushed off and as I came down the spiral stair case I could hear voices so I waited in the hole at the bottom as a late 20's bloke stood in the centre of the tower looking up & he was closely followed by a mid 20's girl in hot pants and another one in a dress and halter top & she was the one who saw me. So I scrambled out, explained that there was a staircase in the alcove - the bloke knew all about it and tried to get the one in hot pants to venture in but she was having none of it. Don't know if I spoiled the moment but as I took pictures outside he started making animalistic noises and soon after the three of them shuffled off looking back at me in a really weird way!!!!!
Thing that really impressed me about the place was the graffiti signatures on the walls in inaccessible places just under the roof all dated 1980............
