This trip started out about exploring an old railway station and maintenance yard that dates back
to 1906, one of the oldest railway facilities in Malaysia. It was also a top priority to get pics of the
old North British type 56 locomotive that was on display next to the station building.

After getting some pics of the loco we broke for lunch, planning to return after to see about
checking out the maintenance yard and the stacks of abandoned passenger coaches they had .

That's when we got a little bit side tracked..

So we drove off finding someplace to eat, this is when things started to get interesting.
Upon finding a rather ropey restaurant we spied 3 abandoned estate houses on nearby hill!

From the looks of it these were pretty early examples of pre war estate manager houses.

Unfortunately we were finally chased off the hill by some plantation workers.

We never did get back to check out that train yard...

That old sink -i love it! :)

thanks for the comments guys.

Upon further research I now believe these houses, due to their design, were in fact
accommodation for high ranking Malayan railway officials rather than plantation houses.
But either way they still date from the 20's or 30's.

Hello Raz. I am seriously like those pics of the Steam Loco. The sink was a lovely touch as well.

Great pics Raz  I just love the Twyfords sink  The 1st estate house picture is very similar to those we have in Trinidad that were on the old Tate & Lyle estates, I actually did a "double take" when I saw it

What a find, eh? The loco and derelict carriage are fab...finding the accomodation is a real bonus.
Love the second house...spectacular design. And yeah, I love the sink too.
