Trainspotting

I managed to drag my young lad out for an explore which makes a change as exploring dosent come with a screen attached so hes not really that interested any more (any of you with teenage children will laugh anyway)
Everyone loves trains & this is a really easy explore so we had a butchers, Im assuming these are surplus from the nearby heritage railway as they are a real mix bag of rolling stock.
Either way they are now marooned on their own small stretch of line slowly decaying!

Nice photos. Didn't realize any "Dogfish" wagons, the ballast wagon with the 3 hand wheel things, got preserved.

unfortunately dosent look like they will be preserved, but at the moment they r in good nick, all the wheels & opening flaps still work which we had fun with

They were taken on as a 'working' set for the already mentioned railway - now kept 'just in case' I think, beats laying ballast from a bucket on a JCB! There were a few more dotted around the preservation world, but I think most ended up under the cutting torch.

Looking at google some have changed / gone?
There appears to be a longer line of them & 2 separate lines of wagons.
Not sure how as there is hardly any track either side of them so I assume that has been pulled up too since google did its stuff!

Thanks, yeah some of them are shot but others look like they could go straight back on the rails!
Trouble is the goods stuff isn't really wanted, cos u can only make money ferrying passengers I guess!
