Unwin Brothers Printing press,Woking, 2008

Visited with my brother, who isn't yet on the site.
Unwin brothers is a magazine, directory and journal printer who were based in old-woking for some years and i believe were very well established in the "print scene." They upped sticks and left their printing press to move to Chessington. I think the place was empty for around a year before we found it, and although quite stripped, there was still lots of interesting things to be found.

Think the site is probably being demo'd as we speak. Shame as its an awesome building, and theres bits we didn't see. Ive got some more pics i'll add when i don't feel like throwing my laptop against the wall as its being bloody slow :icon_evil

Be careful in Unwins though, a couple of guys on 28dl got mauled buy unleashed security dogs there recently....

Yeah i heard about that and saw the pics, it looked savage!
Me and my brother were the first people from 28days to explore the site and at that time im pretty sure there was no security or dogs, so we got lucky really

I've seen the piccies of inside, but didn't realise it was such a nice piece of brickwork out the front!!!

why do devo's feel such aneed to destroy buildings to make new modern faceless crappy built prescott box's

they could demo' everthing upto the frontage no problem, but keep th frontage, as its very nice!
