Got to this place a while back now with Lacelotte..
Upsall Grange is a fromer nursing home and old manor house. It was converted into a nursing home back in the 1980's and has had a bleak reputation, mostly wirh cases of abuse and neglect. It was finally closed about 10 years ago now, and was under care and maintenence until about a year ago when it was left to rot and security was pulled. Since then the pikey's have moved in and stripped every room of wiring, copper, and all the roofing lead.
Since it closed the owners have unsuccessfully tried about 7 or 8 times to develop the site into executive type flats and housing, everytime they've been turned down. But now because of the state of the buildings they've been given the go ahead to demolish all the buildings and build a new 40 bed nursing home!
Similar story with one of their other former nursing homes less then a mile away, repeatedly turned down planning permission for housing, that place burned down.
