Waithe, st Martins containing some of the lincolnshire's earliest ecclesiastical architecture, parts of st Martins date to the tenth century: a saxon tower with Romanesque double-arched belfry openings. it is possible that this remnant of an earlier church belonged to that a mentioned in the domesday book in 1086. The tower with its pain parpaets stands intact amidst the restored nave, chacel aspe and small south transept, all built victorian period out of a combination of limestone and ironstone. The chancel is decorated with a blind arcade comprising marble shafts and limestone arches with carved capitals. The furnishings inside date from the victorian restoration by local architect james fowler in 1861 at the behest of the Haigh family, including the font, pulpit and pews.

On to the pictures, Thanks for looking.
