First post on here...... Second explore also! So go Easy :)

This ominous looking place can be seen from quite a way away, but most prominent when driving down the A34 going into Oxford....... Me and my friend went there after trying fair mile, and we got collared - so this was our fall back.

Sorry about the lack of externals, something I will remember for next time!!

This place is extremely easy to find, mainly because it so bloody massive, but it also has it's own access road so it's easy to get to - No need for any 'plans of attack' this place is completely 100% deserted. Theres a portacabin with some diggers and builders next to the railway, but thats nothing to do with the site, and we exchanged waves and hello's, they didn't bother us, and vice-versa.

There is evidence of locking down - but vandals have been since and undone a lot of their work.

This place is definitely worth a visit - doesn't take long to do the full tour and there plenty of interesting things. It was one of my first explores so I was to busy doing just that when I should of really been taking more photos!

Welcome to the site! This was one of my first explores too. It's such a great place and quite "newbie friendly" (not saying you're newbie, I'm saying I was/am).

Good to know it's been opened up again, need to go back and grab some daylight shots seeing as I've only done it at night before.

Hi photographicman
I like this place mate .
Thanks for posting

Nice one mate, was my 2nd ever explore a couple of years ago.

I heard that there was a fire there recently but it doesent look evident from you photo's, was there any fire damage?

Matt

As you said, it didn't look like it - But we didn't do the whole building (short on time) so maybe it was somewhere we didn't go? Or it could of been in one of the storage sheds or admin buildings..... I'm going back there soon so I will try and do the rest and look out for it!

Thanks for comments everyone! :D I will definitely get around to resizing these soon for those of you who are having trouble with the photos - sorry about that.

There was a fire in one of the offices. It's the one at the front left of the main building as you look at it from the car park. By the looks of things, it wasn't a massive fire and was contained to the offices. The main silo is untouched as far as I could see.

Yet another buildings origins/ usage explained. As you say,it really does look sinister.Everytime I drove past,I half expected to see greenpeace or similar logos proclaiming it to be a toxic waste hazard.Just shows how wrong you can be.Good choice, thanks.
