West Park Asylum in Black and White

Hi Everybody,

So for my last and final visit to West Park before the demolition work starts. I wanted to try my hand at some Black and White photos. I actually spent the whole 7 hours in Black and White only taking 3 shots in full colour! I'm going to miss this place

The history can be found in my other report.

I like your photos a lot, but i think a few more 'general views' would be good to add to the mix.The 'Long Grove' hanger is quite well tucked away, not seen any other photos of it!

The fire extinguishers were arranged as a Swastika last time I saw them!!

wheres the extinguishers? looks like a roof space. is it in the nightinga;le annex?

Extinguishers are in a store room near the hall.

i noticed on my last visit that someone had been up in the roofspace of the nightingale annexe. i wouldnt go up there for love nor money. well maybe money.

The pattern of those extinguishers changes more than the weather! They were in the formation of a swastika (spelling) when i went the other day...

Good shots you've got, the black and white certainly makes the place look different

Do you bump into other people there? also have you encountered any problems with floors or anything like that. This is my first ever time doing anything like thism as excited as I am I would love to know what to expect, also takeing a friend who is also new to this, want to keep her safe. Also, any hints on what to take for this particular building?

only thing you need with you while exploring is some common sense and be wary thats it other then that enjoy yourself!
