This Garage is on the backstreets of Ilkeston (I don't live there, honestly) It has had a pikey-box burnt on the front and has been chavved (this IS ilkeston) Surpisingly, however they contents of the garage remain untouched, even the Amiga computer that I forgot to photograph, Oh well, it was covered in soot anyway. Here are the pictures, not the best explore, but a good way to pass twenty minutes nonetheless.

Thanks For Looking

That is as it came out of the camera with a bit of negative exposure compensation, I am pleased with it too

I pass this place regularly, and tbh, it's just an eyesore that the residents opposite would like to see pulled down (i know one of them) as it attracts the local yoof d*ckheads who have been trashing the place since it closed years ago. it had a brief spell as a hand carwash place recently, as most derelict ex petrol stations do, but it closed within a month, and returned to being a bored chav playground, and rubbish/tyre dumping area. some places are worth saving, or finding a good use for, but the demo crew is the best hope for this place, in my opinion! waste of megapixels! :)

Met a fellow explorer here the other day before venturing elsewhere. I guess Kaputnik has a point; its a major eyesore on an otherwise nice road.

Yeah, It is horribly ugly, can take some nice pictures there though. Still not worth it for the neighbours though. I think it should be rebuilt or pulled down. preferably rebuilt but that is unlikely.

I found it quite an amusing place to meet up with the other chap though, no better welcome to Ilkeston in my view then a fooked garage. To be fair though there is some amazing stuff nearby.

I can sort of see your point, Kap and Thompski, and wouldn't bother with a garage myself either. However......for me, it isn't always about whether a place is historic or worthy enough to be saved (although that does interest me), but also if it's photogenic or not. Sometimes dereliction is just enjoyable for it's own sake, if that makes sense. I think it's interesting how we all approach things from lots of different viewpoints. :)
I do like this. Not for the garage bit but I really like the storage area and the light through the windows.
Nice pics, James. :)

Have to say I agree with Foxy on this one, surly even a housebrick can look good given the right light?
