Second post, first being The Bowland Unit....now I have finally conquered the main site at last!! No history - you all know it off by heart.....
A strange morning really. This being my 5th attempt at the main site I was armed with detailed instructions so was feeling positive and arrived at '*****************....I peeked through the small window only to see the white security van on the other side to my horror! So I froze, sneaked back behind a tree and waited.........waited...after getting frustrated I went to the window again and the secca guy was standing out from his car but didn’t see me so I legged back behind the tree and after 5 more mins he drove off. So, over the gate and into the grounds in double quick time and upon my stroll in blazing sunshine to the happy house I turned round and to my horror again, the white van was parked in full view of me. I was prepared to give up on the sound of a bellowing secca voice but nothing..no sound so I scrambled behind a tree and waited an hour or so for him to drive off again then I sprinted to the golden point and was in....finally!!! I am convinced he knew I was inside as he parked outside the room I was in taking photos like a maniac and blasted out 60's music for a good 30 minutes which was quite surreal but I was assured that he wouldn’t come into the building so I was free for a few hours to finally explore this huge monster of a site!!
Few mishaps inside, twice going through the corridor floor, once quite badly and smashed my knee and ripped my hand open, but the camera survived an almighty thud on the ground luckily...then after 6 hours inside became hugely disorientated and took me 45 minutes to find the way out.....got a bit worried at one point and confused.....but it is now ticked off.....a mighty relief.........it was worth the hassle though, beautiful decay and endless corridors......hope I have done her justice....I have tried to include things not shown before to keep you guys interested!!!!!....enjoy the ride as I certainly did!!!

You have certainly done her justice with your fantastic shots.:) I have been a few times and haven't seen some of the bits you have captured. Hope your knee and hand are ok, she is definately a dodgy explore! I take it you didn't get to see the other place:(

I have my own scar for life mate on the knee aswell, love the place, I was 3 rd time lucky, good shots too, will be back end of summer to see the foilageq:)

How the hell have you managed to make Whitty look like anything but a wet mess??? Well done, great photo set.

Aha ha!!...not sure!..first of all appologies for the naughty info in the opening waffle...hand slapped om that one mods :)
Whitty is a mess but that's it's beauty...I have never seen so many peeling walls in my life!

Thankyou :) When I returned I realised there were the beds I hadn't seen and had an urge to go back to find them but I guess it is such a huge place that it's hard to see everything in one visit....my hands/knee are healing well...just a few battle scars now but the Nikon survived and that's the main thing! :) As for the other place, i'm on hols right now so when i return it is my first 'to do' explore and i'm looking forward to it :)

Very nice set of pics, really done the old girl justice. It's a fantastic 'splore, and I had my very own 'disorientating' experience here! Glad you finally made it in ;)

Absolute STERLING set of shots here, In fact, probably the best I have ever seen from here and my have i seen a lot!

By jove thanks for the kind words...she is a beauty i have to admit ...I'm already feeling an urge to get back in just to find those beds!! never ending obsession!!!

Are you sure this is Whit? Your shots certainly show the old girl in a different light, and all for the better :) Sterling report my friend, and I assume a visit here just wouldn't be the same without some sort of injury

Cheers my friend....yes you are right, some kind of injury is Whittingham's gift to us all I think!! It def is Whitt!! Glad it is shown in a different light...that was the plan....:)

Ok will do...better to go with someone else than alone due to the likelihood of getting lost and dissorientated again....[warning to all who go there....]
