Hi Everyone, I am pretty new to the exploring scene, and not brilliant at photography, but I do try my best and hope to share some inspiring pictures with you all.
So for years now I have wanted to visit Whittingham Asylum, and finally got the chance to explore last week, all in all it was a brilliant visit, We had a drive up first with the dog during the day, walked along the grounds and I was immediately in awe of the huge magnificent buildings. Later that evening we returned (minus the dog) and had great fun exploring whats left of the buildings and even made it to the top of the water tower, needless to say it's a fantastic view "although Im terrified of heights", but I didn't let that stop me .
Overall we spent around four hours exploring all the buildings and taking in the scenery. Such a shame ignorant people have been along and trashed the place .
Demolition is well underway now and I believe they are planning to build around 650 homes on the site, and the buildings which remain standing will no doubt be sold to a developer and renovated into flats/apartments.
Grateful I got the chance to visit before it was too late
