Visited with Ricmonkey.

Looking pretty trashed since I last visited, although it seems somebody is spending a lot of money on the building, all the lower and most of the second floor windows now have a wire mesh over them rather than simply being borded up as they used to be. Not sure what effect this will have on the rising damp, i'd like to think the sunlight will prevent it getting worse, but I doubt it.

The new security grills are letting much more light into the hospital, however there seems to be a lot of evidence of slate theft. I was really suprised to see the manager's suite in the admin block, looks a real mess, the roof windows have been broken and therefore the floors and walls have suffered from water damage.

The main hall remains bordered up and still gloomy, thankfully not burnt down, although driving up the M6 we could see a massive plume of smoke coming from nr the hospital, but no Whittingham was safe:)

Great photos - the setting sun made no. 6 very dramatic.

The smoke was rather concerning as we approached, but fortunately it turned out just to be someone's house

quality mate:):) might be goin very soon to get some more snaps myself, though im guessin that the floors are gonna be even more rotten due to all the rain ,not gonna let it deter me though,my cam been lonely for some time,

I do like the look of your pics, very crisp! It's good to see that people are getting to see the inside still despite the mesh.

I wish I could take such stunning photos. I really need some lessons in digital photography - or I will have to get my old SLR out

Anyone with any ideas what is going to happen to the building?
