Wooden Sword House - Oct 2013

Big thanks to Cachewoo for the tour of this one. Despite the weather it was a great day out with excellent company. I see Mockingbird got his pics up first, so I'll try to show some different aspects - there's no shortage of things to see here.

Sadly no sign of the sword today - could it be the Lady of the Lake reclaimed it?

lovely shots littleoz I didnt see the paper or some other stuff you got, yet spent hours in there, you got some really nice photos of the place, im rather jealous now, what type of lens did you use?
and replying to what you said on my post, no wooden sword

Lol, it's funny when you see other peoples pics of the same place - "Hey, I didn't see X"! I even went all the way back to Eylenbosch brewery after seeing someone elses pics!
Great shots Mr Oz, this place is just unreal, I hope it stays mint.
I'd also be interested in what gear you have.

aha the reason I asked what lens, is because I really struggled with a 12mm lens to capture some of the place yet littleoz seems to have done it with ease, im rather jealous I had to get into funny positions for my shots, an littleoz just walked around all casual snapping away

Some times best is not always best, the other week I was going to buy a DSLR camera for not far off 500 quid, time the woman in the shop tried to show me how it all worked, I gave up and ended up getting a upgrade Fujifilm bridge camera for a 3rd of the price and I'm glad I did. I just point and shoot. with just enough adjustment for when its needed. (Also, I can stuff if down the front of my jacket and it hardly shows.)

Very true. I've had drunks grab my camera at parties, and say, "here let me take an amazing photo" Then take a 1 sec exposure pic, and wonder why it's blurry. They are a lot of work for a slight improvement in image.

That said, we should never lose sight of the fact that one doesn't even need a camera to explore

They were shot with a Canon 60D. Most with a Sigma 10-20mm lens and a few with a 50mm. All hand-held so some mad high ISO making them pretty grainy, but I think the noise can sometimes add to urbex shots. Truthfully, I'm just too damned lazy to use a tripod most of the time .

I totally agree, you can get away with it when shots are full of detail, like this. It only shows if you have a big open sky etc. Ace I only use a 10-20 (sigma) and a 50mm on explores, but have a cheaper body than you, so to speak.
