Another year is almost over and this is traditionally a time when we look back over all we have achieved over the last twelve months.

2015 for me was the most incredible year of exploring I have ever had - and one of my best years in general. In total I managed 106 explores, 63 of those all over the UK and the other 43 spread over two trips across the Atlantic. I visited Scotland and Canada for the first time, crossed off some locations I had wanted to see for ages, explored some incredible places I never even knew existed and found the time to pop in on a few old favourites along the way as well.

In no particular order of favouritism here are some of my favourite places and favourite shots from 2015.

I had no idea I had so many favourites, I tried cutting it down more but couldn't!

I'd love to see your favourite spots and shots of 2015.

Looks like some good memories there mooks.

Sadly as with the past few years I've done precisely nothing in 2015.

Big up Bellboys. Pity a lot of the ancillary buildings are gone now. Thanks for sharing :)

Yeah Bellerbys was cool, bit of a no-go now though!

My personal favourite is picture 9. I just love that house.

9 was cool, me and my friend in New Jersey who found it were the only people to ever explore it as well, as not long after I visited the stalled renovation started up again.

My personal favourite was 12/13 though....really fell in love with that house.

I did Bellboys and loved it, recently returned and its a full on development site now :(

I dont know whats been my favourite this year, My recent trip to France was pretty amazing, and I have a few other things I've done this year that will stay a secret for now, but I promise you will love when I do drop them :)

one of my faves of the year

OK... here's my Top 10 of the year. 2015 was quite a busy one - 88 reports in total. Some off-the-beaten-track and some smaller, less well known sites. Anyhow here they are:

1. George Barnsley's - Sheffield. If you've been there you'll know why this is Number 1. Not easy to get into any more but once you do it reveals its secrets:

2. Cannon Brewery - Sheffield. Another one of the big Sheffield sites. Now a no-go. If you did go you will know why this is in at No.2

3. Ma Wan – Hong Kong. Can’t beat a bit of HK ghost village action and this one is the biggest and the best

4. Oakhurst House, Ambergate, Derbyshire I’m a sucker for big ruined mansion houses and this is one of the finest.

5. Ciaotou Sugar Refinery, Kaohsiung, Taiwan This place was massive and very, very photogenic, with the bonus of having its own railway system.

6. Old Chinese Mansion, Shek Lo, Fanling, Hong Kong This old mansion is sublime so was very satisfying to finally get round it.

7. Rougham Hall, Suffolk. Despite forgetting my camera battery and having to get the pix on my phone, this was a great explore. A classical old ruined manor house.

8. Kau Tam Tso Ghost village, Plover Cove, Hong Kong Another ‘ghost village’ but on a much smaller scale, but no less rewarding.

9. Torksey Castle, Lincolnshire This 6th-century Tudor stone-built fortified manor house was total history.

10. Hunger Hill Pumping station, Derbyshire Think it was the location of this fantastically bijou building that snook it in at number 10.
