I don't usually like to do residential stuff, but this one had a cracking view of Bletchley and Milton Keynes.
Mellish Court Took on its first resident in 1966; an widowed lady from London; and continued to house up to 136 families at full capacity. The Tower Block saw its last family leave in 2021/22 and is being demolished as we speak.
Sadly, the block saw several suicides over the years; including a mother who jumped off the roof with her child.
The view was great. but the roof was like a sheet of ice! Generally pretty boring internals with some nice little details; but its all about the roof with stuff like this.
The locals refer to this as "Hellish Court", and having seen it appear all over the local pages to Bletchley and its pending demolition; so I thought I'd go with a friend in the evening when the Demo Team had left, to check it out. We were on our own, but had to dodge Armadillo Security Robots. As you would expect, the inside wasn't much and the roof was the place to be; though it was easier to shoot from the windows of the top flat.
You could still smell air fresheners in some of the flats!
