Well, after a weekend wandering the Lincolnshire Wolds, i thought best to pop in on one of my old haunts after reading somewhere on the net about it's imminent demolition. On my arrival, my jaw dropped, as i was greeted with the view of only one remaining building - too late, gutted!
In my early twenties, i visited this place many times & would literally spend hours looking at the vast amount of old artefacts that were to be found in almost every building, & believe me there were lots.
A little history on Pingley;
Situated in Brigg, Lincolnshire, Pingley POW Camp was built in 1942-1943 initially to house Italian POW's. Known as 'Camp 81', it became exclusively German from sometime in 1944.
I've found a link to a website which documents Pingley thoroughly, & IMO, is the best way to get an idea of how this site was before it's sad ending & also gives more history;

Sadly, photo opportunities from here are now limited to the water tower. I climbed the ladder to the upper levels 15 years back but today i wasn't risking it, dut to the floors looking like they could give way at any minute.
