The Doctors House
April 2013
The Doctors House is an Elizabethan styled manor house which has stood derelict since the 1990s after the owner, a Psychiatrist, released a mental health patient from the Doncaster Royal Infirmary just two days before she repeatedly stabbed an 11 year old girl in the Frenchgate Shopping Centre. It is believed that the Doctor sold this house after having to move to a different hospital to undertake supervised specialist training before returning to his previous role.
The Doctor involved in this unfortunate incident is still a licensed professional for the Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust and in 2001 he hit the headlines once again after he was nominated for a top medical award for work done in recent years to improve the care given to patients.
I have no idea why nothing has been done to try and save this property. The interior is full of solid stone walls and stair cases and solid wooden floor, built to withstand the test of time. However, with no windows or doors on the property, time is the one thing that this once grand, Elizabethan styled manor building doesn’t have.
My wife (a non member) was also with us on this trip so here are a few of her shots
Cheers for looking and as always, a few more shots can be found on my website! (Click Here)
