I don't really know much about the background of this place except that it seems to have been a pretty religious nursing home for old folks that closed in 2004, I think. The only part that looks like it's been stripped is some of the chapel, which is a shame as it looks cracking inside. A few of the rooms did reek a bit of pee though.

Approaching St. Joseph's.

Do you think the residents wrote 'im bored' in one of those photos? Nursing homes are horrible places to be!

Well done on the photos, looks as though that wide angle lens is paying off.

Perhaps a retirement/nursing home for clergy/priests? There obviously vastly differing build dates to the various parts of this building. Have you ( Cuban B ) checked the old maps to get approximate build dates?

Great find & fab pics! It's great the way that one part looks in good nic then another is totally trashed! Cheers!

Thanks folks, I haven't really explored any of its past but I've heard it was a depressing place to end your days. The main altar's marble as well as the six smaller altars at the sides for Jesus, Mary and four saints.

Yeah the wide angle lens is damn good but sometimes I just want my old stick lens on, unfortunately it was thrown out
